Museums in Maastricht

Maastricht is home to many different museums. At the Bonnefanten museum you can indulge in the wonders of modern art, or you can travel back into the prehistoric world of the Mosasaurus at the Natural History Museum. And at Museum aan het Vrijthof, you can learn everything you've always wanted to know about photography.

Maximize your enjoyment by making the most of your visit to Maastricht. Events are allowed once more and the museums, cinemas, and theatres are ready to welcome you back with open arms. In locations where the 1.5 metre-distance rule can be enforced, venues are no longer obliged to enforce other measures. If the 1.5 metre-distance rule cannot be enforced, then other measures – which you must abide by – will apply for each location. To attend some events, you must be able to show a coronavirus entry pass. Remain aware of which rules apply while making sure you stay safe, so you can have a great time!

If you want to let us know that your event or activity has been cancelled or postponed, or if you have an initiative that you'd like to share with us, please send an e-mail to and we'll process it as soon as we can.
