The exhibition reveals how white marble sculptures from classical antiquity were actually painted in vibrant colors. Professor Vinzenz Brinkmann and Ulrike Koch-Brinkmann have created numerous life-sized reconstructions of emperors, gods, and mythological figures. The exhibition in Tongeren offers an immersive experience with video installations, authentic statues, and atmospheric footage of marble quarries. Visitors embark on an informative journey through ancient Greece, learning about the techniques, pigments, and the significance of these sculptures in classical antiquity. Children can enjoy special guided tours and creative workshops. One of the exhibition's highlights is the reconstructions of famous bronze sculptures, including ancient Greek warriors and 'The Boxer and the Prince,' featuring surprising details such as gemstone eyes and copper lips, nipples, and eyelashes.
