Music is the artistic combination of sounds to bring out the beauty of emotion. Everybody speaks the language of music. Music brings people together, and it does so too in Maastricht.
Immerse yourself in the musical performances and concerts that Maastricht has planned for you. Every year, André Rieu mesmerizes the city with his dulcet sounds on Vrijthof square. But there's more... throughout the year you can enjoy music performances at the Muziekgieterij, listen to live jazz music at Familia, or get on the open stage at Café de Pieter.
The South Netherlands Philharmonic is a dynamic symphony orchestra with a wide range of concert formulas. The repertoire covers the entire symphonic literature, from centuries-old masterpieces to exciting world premières. Their performances are inspired by their bond with the people of the southern part of the Netherlands and is demonstrated by the successful projects in the region at times that matter. The high-quality educational programme makes South Netherlands Philharmonic an orchestra for everyone.
Listen to classical masterpieces from home or be surprised by the #philgood moments of the orchestra members.
Will you be listening too?
The Muziekgieterij is Maastricht's leading music venue and the perfect place to (re)discover old and new music. Since 2019, Muziekgieterij '2.0', located in the heart of the industrial Sphinxkwartier district, has opened its doors to no less than 1,500 visitors. For lovers of indie, rock and pop music, you will find your pleasure in the music temple of Maastricht, even at night.
The Muziekgieterij, its production company M-PX, and journalist/presenter Leon Verdonschot are starting a new initiative together: QUARANTALKS, a weekly live talk show broadcast from the now empty Muziekgieterij.
