You can easily park it in the car park behind The Social Hub in the Sphinx Quarter, your home for the next few days - a place full of creative energy. Coming by public transport? Lunch by the water
You only have to walk out the front door of The Social Hub and you will already see it: Lumière Cinema. A striking building, namely a national monument built in 1910 that functioned as a power station for industry in the Sphinx Quarter. Now it is a movie house, with a cosy Grand Café. Whether you sit inside or outside, having lunch here is a unique experience. Inside you sit in the impressive hall where you feast your eyes on the details, and outside you sit by the water of 't Bassin. The menu does not disappoint either: a varied lunch menu with soups, savoury sandwiches, tasty burgers, light salads, with both meat and vegetarian options. Enjoy!

Breakfast out of doors
Starting the day with a good breakfast? You can at SMAAK. You can choose from several breakfast options here. Choose the Fresh breakfast with coffee or tea and a croissant. Or go for Healthy, which includes fresh juice, yoghurt with granola and fruit. The Tasty breakfast also offers bread, ham, cheese, a boiled egg and fruit salad.
Prefer plant-based? The Vegan breakfast includes vegan yoghurt, forest fruit compote and fruit salad. There are also individual options such as a Paratha breakfast wrap, organic or vegan yoghurt with fruit and granola, and a fresh fruit salad. You can top up your breakfast with extra bread, croissants or a boiled egg.

On an adventure - at Mount St Peter

After that breakfast, you are good to go. Time to go on an adventure. Where to go? Mount St Peter's, of course. Walking to St Peter's is very doable. Just take your time and stop at any sights along the way to fully take in the city. Once you arrive in Sint Pieter, make a stop at the Maastricht Underground Ticket Shop. Here you can check if there are still spots for a tour of the caves or for the fortress. It is recommended to buy a ticket online in advance or book a tour at the Maastricht Store. Be guided by the Official Maastricht Guide who can tell you all about this special location.

For a moment on the terrace
After your adventure on Mount Saint Peter (St. Pietersberg hill), it is time to relax at the bottom of the hill. At Bistro Vief, when the weather is good, you can take a seat on the cosy terrace and enjoy a cup of coffee, a piece of flan or a drink. You're here at the living room of Sint Pieter, as the locals call it.
Then stroll through the Stadspark (city park) back into the city. The park is made up of several sections, each with unique elements that surprisingly offer nature and peace in the middle of the city.

Discovering city districts
Maastricht consists of several districts, each with its own unique atmosphere and character. In the Sphinx Quarter, you can taste the industrial past, but also the creative energy that prevails there now. If you go to the Jeker Quarter, you suddenly find yourself walking through a historic setting of medieval streets, old buildings and along the rippling waters of the Jeker.
Crossing the Meuse, you'll discover yet another side of the city: Wyck, where local concept stores, various specialty shops and cosy terraces invite you to linger. Get lost and enjoy the city.
