The Artist
In the early 1970s, during his collaboration with Nam June Paik, Bill Viola emerged as a pioneer in video art. Breaking conventions of television and film, he crafted a new grammar for moving images—original, powerful, and enchantingly beautiful.

Bill Viola is globally recognized as a leading contemporary artist and an undisputed pioneer of video art. Over the past 45 years, he has consistently explored humanistic and spiritual themes in his work.

Viola is among the artists who prompt awareness of our finitude, intricately linked to the human condition.
