INSIDE OUT

Maastricht

Experience art and sensory-stimulating activities that you wouldn't normally expect in a museum. In no other exhibition are you allowed to touch, listen, climb, talk, and craft as much! Discover what makes you, you, and then zoom out to explore your role in society and the footprint you leave behind. Will you come to play, explore, and discover?

From the inside...

In the space-filling installation Ethereality by artist Morena Bamberger, take your first steps as if you're witnessing the world for the first time. Let yourself be amazed and notice how you get to know yourself and your home environment better. Further on, slanted walls seem to approach you. This environment looks slightly different from what you're used to.

To the outside...

To the outside...

Your world expands. Objects start playing an increasingly important role. You come across an artwork made of cardboard boxes. It's Mathilde ter Heijne's Life Inside Storage, which illustrates the contrast between the desire for a personal space with personal belongings and the high price that both humans and the environment must pay for it.

INSIDE OUT showcases works from the permanent collection, featuring artists such as Otobong Nkanga, Tanja Ritterbex, Mathilde Ter Heijne, Philippe Coclers, and the ceramic collection Polling. It is complemented by a few loans: Morena Bamberger and Joëlle Dubois.
