Discover Saint Peter's
The Sint Pieter district has long been Maastricht's green lung. This former village with its cosy village centre is surrounded by vast meadows, nature reserves and a piece of history in the form of a historic fortress. Enjoy the hills for which South Limburg is famous and the most beautiful sights in the greenery.
ENCI quarry: the most beautiful view
One of Sint Pieter's most beautiful views can be found in the ENCI quarry. Venture into this special area and feast your eyes on the viewing platform on Luikerweg. From here, it is possible to descend into the quarry. The path then goes through an old section of the corridor system and continues its way through the chalk grasslands and the pond to the other side of the quarry.

Fort Saint Peter
Daniëll Wolff baron van Dopff, that name will mean nothing to many people. This is the man who built Fort Sint Pieter in the early 18th century to protect Maastricht from enemy attacks. Today, the fortress looks almost as it did 300 years ago, although it now serves mainly as a tourist attraction. Take a guided tour with one of our guides and add some culture to your green city moment.
