Shopping in the city centre
Coming to Maastricht for shopping? Then don't miss the city centre. No matter what you are looking for, you are sure to succeed in the city centre! Maastricht's city centre is compact with all shopping streets just a few minutes apart. This makes it easy to visit many shops in one shopping session. We list everything for you so you don't miss a thing.
Grote Staat, Kleine Staat & Maastrichter Brugstraat
In the Grote Staat and Kleine Staat you will find the well-known clothes shops, perfumeries and department stores, but you will also come across local shops. One example is the Maastricht Store where you will find beautiful products of local origin. Maastrichter Brugstraat, on the edge of the Stokstraat Quarter, is also diverse. This lively shopping street connects the city centre with the river Meuse.
Muntstraat, Nieuwstraat & Spilstraat
Mintstraat, Nieuwstraat and Spilstraat are nice side streets of the Grand State. All three streets lead to the Markt. Here you will find the Entre Deux shopping centre and historic buildings with concept stores, home furnishing shops and fashion boutiques. You will also come across a chocolaterie and a bookshop, among others. In short, definitely worth a look!
Wolf Street
Wolfstraat is one of Maastricht's larger shopping streets. Besides modern retail chains and franchise branches, you will also find local shopkeepers with artisanal products. Take your time to look at the beautiful shop windows with historic facades above them and enjoy the typical Maastricht ambiance.
Sint Amorsplein square
Not only the shopping streets, but also the cosy squares in the city centre are worth a visit. At Sint-Amorsplein, Platielstraat, Sporenstraat and Achter het Vleeshuis meet in a triangle. Go shopping here for interior stuff, jewellery or vintage clothes. Or relax on a cosy terrace. Still not finished shopping? Then check out the cute shops on Minckelersstraat.
Markt square
Maastricht's Markt is best known for its stately 17th-century town hall, but the weekly market on Wednesdays and Fridays is also well visited. There you can browse among stalls selling clothes, flowers, fabrics and fresh produce.
