Parking during Magical Maastricht

You can expect more crowds in the city in December, so it's smart to prepare your visit to Maastricht well. If you live nearby, consider travelling by public transport, coming by bike or walking. If you come from further away and choose to go by car, make sure you know in advance where you can park. Plan your trip in advance and be well prepared.

Wyck Route

Museum visit

Easily park your car between the Limburgs Gouvernement and the Bonnefanten in Q-Park Bonnefantenmuseum. This car park may not yet have been discovered by many, but it is an ideal location as you can be in the city centre in no time. Here you will also find the iconic red star; great for a photo opportunity! Start your day with a visit to the museum for an inspiring kick-off. Discover various exhibitions, ranging from modern works of art to old masterpieces. You can wander around for hours here.

Hot drink, - delicious snack

After your museum visit, a walk along the Meuse towards Plein 1992 is highly recommended. Follow the atmospheric garlands of lights through Charles Eyck Park and enjoy the breathtaking view of the city. On one side, you can see the Hoge Brug (High Bridge), the Sint Servaas bridge (St. Servatius Bridge) and the towers of the Basilica Of Our Lady (The Basilica of Our Lady). On the other side, the Mount Saint Peter (St. Pietersberg hill) looms large.

Fancy a heartwarming drink, such as coffee, tea or hot chocolate? Settle down at Café Zuid or Coffeelovers. Prefer an extensive lunch? Then walk a little further to BIKKE, where you can enjoy Scandinavian-inspired dishes in a tastefully designed setting.

Another convenient car park is Q-Park de Griend, located at the Griendpark, right on the river Meuse. Walk under the Wilhelmina Bridge and stop off at NOON. Here you can enjoy panoramic views of the Saint Servatius Bridge and the city. Depending on when you arrive, you can wander into NOON for lunch, dinner or just a drink before exploring the city further. It is a trendy place where you can eat well or just relax.

From optical illusions - to strolling across the Market.

From NOON , you can walk up the stairs to the Wilhelmina Bridge. Cross the bridge and you’ll arrive at the Mosae Forum, a shopping centre where you can shop and visit the fascinating ‘Museum of Illusions’. Immerse yourself in a world of illusions, holograms, puzzles and extraordinary spaces. After the museum, you’ll find yourself right on the Markt. Is there a market on? Then have a stroll past the stalls and look for fresh fruit and veg, vintage treasures or lovely gifts.

Explore the Sphinx Quarter

From the Markt, within minutes you are in the Sphinx Quarter, a vibrant and innovative part of the city with a slightly rawer edge. This is also a part where culture comes alive: film at Lumière Cinema, music at Muziekgieterij and exhibitions at Bureau Europa.

The Sphinx Quarter is a unique and diverse part of the city that is certainly worth exploring during Magical Maastricht. Here, you can shop for interior design and decorations at Loods 5, pick up organic delicacies at the Gedeelde Weelde, take a guided tour of the Blanche Dael coffee roastery, and enjoy a meal with the best view of the city at BOLD.
