Take a guided tour of a brewery or distillery
Rain gives beer lovers the perfect excuse to spend hours at Bosch Brewery. Take a journey through brewing history in Maastricht's last complete city brewery. Visit the malting plant, brewery and brewer's house, most of whose 19th-century interior has been preserved. Large-scale brewing took place here until 1970. From 2022, beer will be brewed again on a small scale; the Trichter Tripel. And you will definitely want to taste it after the tour!

Walk through - the caves of Maastricht
Wherever you are protected from the rain? Deep underground under Maastricht. Via Explore Maastricht, book a guided tour of the caves, which you can only visit with a guide. There are two cave systems in Sint Pietersberg. In the Grotten Noord, for instance, which played an important role during the French Revolution, you will find a mystical atmosphere. For kilometres of history, visit the Zonneberg Caves. In this cave system with no less than 22,000 corridors, admire sculptures and drawings such as 'Ahasverus', 'the Dragon' and 'Medaillon'. Did you know, for instance, that this underground art gallery was a hiding place for Rembrandt's Night Watch during the war?
