Hoeve Lichtenberg

Nestled in the heart of the Mount Saint Peter Nature Reserve lies Hoeve Lichtenberg, a listed square-layout farmstead with a rich history. The farmstead was built on the site of a former medieval castle and, together with the adjacent Ruïne Lichtenberg , forms a unique historical ensemble. Today, it is a unique place to stay, surrounded by nature and just a short distance from Maastricht.

A farmstead with a remarkable history
After the medieval castle had fallen into disrepair, the current Hoeve Lichtenberg was built on the former castle grounds. The historic farmhouse and the remaining keep together form a tangible reminder of this place’s long history. Thanks to its location atop the Mount Saint Peter, you can also enjoy a magnificent view over the Meuse Valley from here.

Staying overnight stay on the Mount Saint Peter
Hoeve Lichtenberg is owned by Natuurmonumenten and now serves as a holiday home. The historic farmhouse is an ideal base from which to explore the natural surroundings of Mount Saint Peter. From the farm, you can walk or cycle straight into the nature reserve and easily reach various attractions in the surrounding area.

The holiday home also features the tower room, which is housed in the centuries-old keep of the former castle. This means you can spend the night here in a place where history is literally part of the building.
