Anyone walking through the Spinx Quarter cannot avoid it: the white Eiffel Building. Not entirely by chance, then, that it was named after the Eiffel Tower because of its exceptional height. The factory building was built between 1928 and 1941 and served the sanitary ware manufacturer Sphinx.

Wash basins and urinals were mass-produced, using the latest construction techniques, by thousands of factory workers; the pottemennekes as they are called in Maastricht. Today it has a completely different function, with The Social Hub and various restaurants, shops and a passageway, as the beating heart of Spinxkwartier.
