Sint Janskerk (St. John's Church)
Protestant church on Vrijthof Square. The red tower is a landmark in Maastricht's skyline.

The Sint-Janskerk (also called the 'Sint Jan of Maastricht') is a Protestant church located on the Vrijthof square in Maastricht. Its red tower is a landmark on the Maastricht skyline. Historically, the church contains many things worth seeing. The church is built of marl. This was already used as a building material by the Romans and comes from the marl quarries around the city.
In its current appearance, the tower dates from the mid-15th century. The tower can be climbed to the first circumference (43 metres). There is a wonderful view of the Vrijthof, the city and its surroundings from there.
Divine services: Every Sunday at 10.00 am, the Protestant Congregation Maas-Heuvelland celebrates its worship services here. You are welcome to attend.
