On the edge of the city, among the centuries-old fortifications, you will find the remains of the former Sphinx factory. Located in the Sphinx Quarter, the Sphinx Factory is a venue for numerous activities.
Not long after the factory divested this part, the site (now the Frontenpark/ Parking lot Frontenpark) was renamed Maastricht's first Hall of Fame. The first place where artists could legally do their thing. A milestone in the region and an important moment for street art in the city. The Hall of Fame was not allowed to stay. The reason for this was the discovery of the wall lizard.
Now the wall with its many layers of peeling paint serves as a beautiful memoriam of this historic hall of Fame.
