Women in Jazz - Olga Reznichenko ft. Fringe Orchestra

Fringe Orchestra is the annual crossover orchestra project of the Conservatorium Maastricht. It consists of top talents and alumni of the music academy, and each edition is tailor-made for a new guest soloist. It is conducted by artistic director Jesse Passenier, who both conducts the orchestra and takes care of the arrangements.

Previous editions brought crossovers between a big band, a classical ensemble and an electric band, and Fringe Orchestra keeps reinventing itself. The orchestra feels at home on stage and shared it last season with renowned Catalan trumpeter and singer Andrea Motis. Before that, it collaborated with Dutch melodic saxophonist Kika Sprangers, inventive Belgian drummer Lander Gyselinck (known from STUFF) and brilliant French vocalist Camille Bertault.

The orchestra covers a wide range of styles: from jazz and funk to world music, chanson, electro and hip-hop. Fringe Orchestra dares, chafes, overwhelms and inspires. Where there are boundaries, it happens.
