Pieke Parcours: Pieke Dassen exhibition
5 September, 6 September and 9 more days
In the Dinghuis, discover the original puppets, objects and archive material of Pieke Dassen, Maastricht's most famous puppeteer.
The 'Pieke Dassen' exhibition offers a unique look at the work and legacy of this iconic puppeteer and artist from 5 to 27 September. This exhibition takes place in the Dinghuis, a historic building in the centre of Maastricht that has traditionally been closely associated with the city's history and cultural life.
A symbolic step is taken at this special location: where the famous Poesjenellen cellar used to be, the Poesjenellenzolder will now be set up on the bell floor. This new presentation area refers to the rich past of the Maastricht puppet theatre. Visitors can discover original puppets, objects and archive material, complemented by other art objects that show Pieke Dassen's broad artistic practice. The exhibition honours this heritage and makes it visible and experienceable again for a wide audience. The exhibition is freely accessible and suitable for the whole family, allowing Maastricht residents and visitors to learn about this important part of Maastricht's cultural history in an accessible way.
The exhibition can be visited every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3pm.
