Pieke Parcours: Clowns Houses
UNTIL 26 September
Clowns Houses by Merlin Puppet Theatre is a wordless, visual performance full of subtle humour in which the lives of different residents in one building come to life in poetic ways. The performance is intended for adults.
The FiguresTheatreDays are an important part of the Pieke Parcours, which celebrates the historical legacy of Pieke Dassen and translates it into a contemporary context. through performances and public activities, figure theatre is made visible again and accessible to a wide audience.
On the closing weekend, on 25 and 26 September, Merlin Puppet Theatre plays Clowns Houses. In this wordless, visually powerful performance, we follow the inhabitants of one building. Using puppets, table puppets and subtle humour, themes of loneliness, routine and connection are poetically and recognisably portrayed.
Robin Puijk's fringe programme offers additional depth and the chance to meet the creators. During her performance Vlugt , spectators will enter a tent one by one and get to see a scene of about two minutes here. The play is inspired by lambe-lambe theatre and depicts the journey to our dreams.
Visitors during FiguresTheatreDays will have a unique opportunity to experience puppet theatre up close and learn about the creative processes behind the performance. The programming emphasises accessibility, interaction and education and contributes to active audience engagement. This makes the FigurenTheaterDagen an essential and connecting part of the Pieke Parcours, in which heritage, figure theatre and the public come together in Maastricht.
