Pieke Parcours: Pieke Dassen exhibition

The 'Pieke Dassen' exhibition offers a unique look at the work and legacy of this iconic puppeteer and artist from 5 to 27 September. This exhibition takes place in the Dinghuis, a historic building in the centre of Maastricht that has traditionally been closely associated with the city's history and cultural life.

A symbolic step is being taken at this special location: where the famous Poesjenellen Cellar once stood, the Poesjenellen Attic is now being set up on the bel-étage. This new exhibition space pays homage to the rich history of Maastricht’s puppet theatre. Visitors can discover original puppets, objects and archive material, complemented by other works of art that showcase Pieke Dassen’s wide-ranging artistic practice. The exhibition honours this heritage and makes it visible and tangible once again for a wide audience. Admission to the exhibition is free and it is suitable for the whole family, enabling residents and visitors to Maastricht to become acquainted with this important part of Maastricht’s cultural history in an accessible way.

The exhibition is open every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 11.00 to 15.00. The exhibition opens on Saturday 5 September at 14.00.
