Philzuid - Ravel's piano concerto for the left hand

Maurice Ravel innovated symphonic music with colourful orchestrations and dreamy sound worlds. This concert will include Ma Mère l'Oye, a fairytale suite full of musical images from classic tales such as Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast.

Piano concerto for the left hand
Ravel's impressive 'Piano Concerto for the Left Hand' was written for pianist Paul Wittgenstein, who lost his right arm during the First World War. The work grew into one of Ravel's best-loved compositions. Pianist Jonathan Fournel, winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition 2021, performs this virtuoso concerto together with Philzuid.
