Dutch Dance Days

Every year, during the first week of October, Maastricht is transformed into the setting for nederlandse Dansdagen, the national festival entirely dedicated to Dutch dance. At various venues across the city, the festival presents a varied programme featuring performances, premieres, workshops, talks, films and other public activities. Visitors are introduced to the diversity of the dance world: from classical ballet and modern dance to urban, performance and interdisciplinary work.

Nederlandse Dansdagen provide a stage for both established dance companies and choreographers as well as emerging talent. The festival fosters interaction between audiences, creators and professionals, and contributes to the development and visibility of the Dutch dance sector. It also focuses on talent development, innovation and the social significance of dance. Thanks to this combination of artistic quality, innovation and interaction, the festival has developed into a major annual event for anyone wishing to experience, discover and explore Dutch dance.
