Netherlands American Cemetary
Over 8,000 servicemen are buried at this only US cemetery in the Netherlands.

More than 8,000 servicemen are buried at this only American cemetery in the Netherlands. Most died during the liberation of the south-eastern part of the Netherlands in W.W. II and the advance through Germany. The cemetery is visible far and wide by a 30-metre-high tower. The territory of the cemetery has been made available to the Government of the United States of America for perpetual use. Management rests with the 'American Battle Monuments Commission'. Every year in May, ABMC organises a publicly accessible memorial service 'Memorial Day', attended by many dignitaries from home and abroad.
