Kruisherenklooster
The Kruisherenklooster was one of 22 monasteries located within Maastricht's city walls in the Middle Ages.
Where guests now sleep, dine and stay amid luxury and design, the Crusaders once lived. Crusaders were monks whose daily life was mainly concerned with studying, copying and binding books. The Kruisherenklooster was one of 22 monasteries located within Maastricht's city walls in the Middle Ages. In the French era, the monasteries were closed by the French occupiers and the Kruisheren left for other places. In 2003, the monastery was bought by well-known hotelier Camille Oostwegel. He established a design hotel there.
