Where film and science meet
Lumière and Maastricht University are both celebrating their 50th anniversaries with the 50/50 Film & Science Festival. The programme consists of a day packed with film, science and surprising insights.

Create your own animated film during a workshop, listen to scientists talking about the latest discoveries and be inspired by extraordinary short films. The film screenings are complemented by discussions with filmmakers and experts. Afterwards, there’s an opportunity to chat over a drink.

A programme for young and old
The festival consists of various components;
During the 50/50 Film & Science Festival: Kids , young visitors discover the world of film and science.
At Stand-Up Science , scientists share their knowledge on a wide range of topics in an accessible way.
In the evening, the Film Carousel takes centre stage , featuring thought-provoking short films and in-depth post-screening discussions.
