A striking breach in the façade of the Minorite Monastery tells the story of Maastricht’s medieval city wall. During restoration work, part of this centuries-old wall was uncovered once again. The monastery itself was built around 1300 and has served various purposes over the centuries, ranging from a monastery and orphanage to a military hospital. Since 1881, it has been home to the Limburg Historical Centre.
During this guided tour, you’ll explore the centuries-old corridors, the former monastery church and the basement, which houses unique archival documents. A unique opportunity to experience the historic building from the inside and discover more about the stories hidden within.
