Step back in time and experience the unique history of Groeve De Schark. Beneath the Mount Saint Peter, in this remarkable underground quarry, a Christmas Eve service was held in 1944 for American soldiers. Their signatures on the walls still serve as a reminder of this special moment.

During a walk with the forest ranger through the ENCI quarry, you’ll visit this historic site. The guides from SHAK 1944 bring the story of this Christmas celebration to life and honour this valuable heritage. You’ll also learn more about the bat paradise that the quarry is home to and enjoy the serene beauty of the surroundings.
