The cultural festival brings international circus, dance and theatre performances, Limburg-based artists and family activities to unique venues in Parkstad.
Ten days of culture
Cultura Nova brings more than 250 performances to theatres, squares, castles and other unique venues in Parkstad. For ten days, the region is all about theatre, circus, dance, music, film and the visual arts.
A grand start
The festival opens with *From Black to Rainbow* by the French company Plasticiens Volants. This large-scale performance marks the start of a diverse programme full of imagination and encounters.
International productions
The programme includes, amongst others, the cine-circus *Entre Chiens et Louves* by Cirque Le Roux, *ZLOTY* by Cia. Pau Palaus and *HYPERSENSES* by the Belgian company Laika. There will also be performances by the Kronos Quartet, and Compagnie Dyptik returns with the dance production Amin.
Talent from Limburg
As well as international acts, Cultura Nova provides plenty of opportunities for local artists. Visitors can discover new work by artists including Princess Isatu Hassan Bangura, MC Makita, Marleen Hendrickx and Clarinde Wesselink, on stages and at unique venues throughout Parkstad.
For young and old
Families and young visitors can choose from visual theatre, free children’s films, street theatre and shows such as ‘Bowie for Babies ’ and ‘The Exploding Whale Musical’.
Music on the festival square
Every day of the festival ends with a free concert in the Spiegeltent. National and international artists provide live music, whilst the pyrotechnic show by Cie. La Machine adds to the atmosphere on the festival square.
