Step from archive to virtual reality in this innovative exhibition at Bureau Europa.
Pavilions in view
Bureau Europa presents together with TU Delft and the New Institute: Pavilions in View - From archive drawing to VR experiment. TU Delft students breathe new life into iconic, and sometimes never-built designs with quirky interpretations and make them digitally experienceable.
From world exhibition to virtual world
The focus is on spectacular exhibition architecture: futuristic pavilions, impressive panoramas and visionary designs that were once meant to amaze the world. Think of the legendary Philips Pavilion by Le Corbusier and Iannis Xenakis from Brussels 1958, MVRDV's high-profile Dutch pavilion at Expo 2000 in Hanover and Hendrik Wijdeveld's experimental HAL Pavilion in Paris (1937).
Young creators, new worlds
The exhibition is the result of The Virtual Architecture Museum, an innovative design studio at TU Delft. Here, students combine historical research with cutting-edge technology. They design their own media pavilions and explore how virtual and physical space merge. The result is an explosion of creativity: experimental, multimedia and surprisingly contemporary.
