Private tour Zonneberg & Museum

Ever since the early 1900s, the corridor system of Caves Zonneberg has been a magnet for visitors, but also for artists who were invited during this period to create beautiful charcoal drawings and sculptures in the walls of the cave. These works formed the thread of the tour at the time. Over a hundred years later, we follow as much as possible the route of the time and look for the various artworks and advertisements of the time.

An exclusive highlight has recently been added to the route, which has recently become accessible to the public. Tucked deep within the cave system is the 'Museum', where you can find works that no doubt capture the imagination. Such as a metre-long Mosasaur cut into the marl and a full-size charcoal version of the famous Night Watch! The latter was recently fully restored. Impressive to look at, but at least as impressive is the story the Maastricht Underground guide takes you through with great verve!
