The story of the geological era Maastrichtian, also known as the Cretaceous, is told. In that era, between 70 and 66 million years ago, a shallow, subtropical Cretaceous sea inundated Maastricht and South Limburg. In it lived, among other things, giant Meuse lizards, also known as mosasaurs. The museum houses remains of several locally found bones of these giants. The most famous one is Bèr. He is the namesake of the exhibition 'Meet Bèr - Mosasaur Experience'.

His 3D printed skeleton is the centrepiece of the exhibition.
