First ever retrospective of this world-class photographer
The Bonnefanten shows the first retrospective ever of top photographer Werner Mantz (1901, Cologne-1983, Maastricht). Mantz is regarded worldwide as one of the most important architectural photographers of his time and of the New Building movement. This is just part of his multifaceted work. Mantz occupies a unique place in history because of his imagery, use of natural light and craftsmanship; Mantz had the perfect eye.
With around 300 (vintage) images, the exhibition The Perfect Eye at Bonnefanten shows his craftsmanship, the diversity of his photography and thus the different stories.
