Good or bad. Angel or devil. Superhero or villain. What is good and what is bad? And who determines that? Religion and mythology have less and less influence; the personal perspective gains influence. Kalpana Raghuraman heard a lot of Indian mythological stories back home. In these, hero’s can also be ‘bad’ and villains ‘good’. Fascinated by this openness, she examines with five dancers, a singer-songwriter and a cartoonist the image of the perfect superhero. She unmasks his dark sides and reveal the complexity of humans.
‘Superhuman: Our Darkness is about the indefinable gray area where the superhero gives us hope, but where also the darkness has its place.’
