This is a cross-border triathlon and will cross into Belgian Limburg. The athletes will complete an extremely challenging course that includes swimming a 3.8 kilometer loop of the Meuse river, from De Griend to the Gouvernement (provincial government) building and back, followed by a 181 kilometre cycling course, and ending with a 42.2 kilometer run. The start, finish, and transition zone will all be located in the centre of Maastricht.
