During the Van Eyck Open Studios, an international group of about 40 artists, designers, curators, architects, and writers present their work in their studios, exhibition spaces, Labs, and other locations in and around the academy. On average, the participants spend a year at Van Eyck. The work on display, the experiments, the research, and the collaborative projects unveil the work process and demonstrate the opportunities and direction of the Van Eyck post-academic institute.
The Van Eyck is a post-academic multidisciplinary institute for the visual arts, design, and reflection in Maastricht. The academy offers promising artists, designers, curators, architects, and writers from all corners of the globe an opportunity in terms of space and time to develop their talents. The Van Eyck also has a public programme with exhibitions, presentations, and lectures. The well-equipped lab (wood, metal, print, photography/new media, and library) and the café-restaurant are open to the public.
