Festival Winternights 2020

Winternights is the initiative of SoAP (Space oriented Artistic Practice) Maastricht, VIA ZUID (Talent development performing arts Limburg) and C-TAKT (Platform Transdisciplinary Talent). With Winternights they offer a stage for work-in-progress of "their" talents from the performing arts of today. At surprising locations in Maastricht, visitors have the opportunity to see new, "unfinished" work by promising theater makers, performers, choreographers, composers and visual artists.

Coronaproof stage

The fifth edition of Winternights, on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 December 2020, will take place largely online for the first time due to the corona measures. Twelve makers (collectives) are working towards a special online experience of their work especially for Winternights 2020. Viewers are presented with intimate and still vulnerable presentations of crossovers in the fields of theater, performance, dance, music and visual arts. Around it, a number of physical presentations can be seen in Maastricht that have been adapted to the 1.5 meter society.

Experiment and dialogue

Winternights is an adventure for creators and visitors alike. The public and professionals, such as programmers and dramaturges, are the first to be introduced to new names and ideas and gain insight into a creative process. Makers are given the space to test and assess new work and to come into contact with the public, professionals and each other.
