For this project of silk painting, it's a technique of dyeing that is at the intersection of batik and watercolor. The paint is made especially for silk work, and the silks she uses are from a fabric destock of big couture houses, the leftovers of Chanel and Hermes and others. She learned the technique from Youtube and from asking in the art supplies stores, and then from trying and trying to get better at it.
