Boys Won't Be Boys

A stage for identity
Boys Won't Be Boys has been breaking the male norm for five years. It is a dazzling theatre happening in which various people (m/f/x) artfully express their relationship to masculinity, identity and sexuality.

Everyone fits in
The concept grew into a major social theatre project where now more than 120 actors and many young people are given the space to freely express themselves as human beings and theatre makers. In May 2026, in co-production with Theater aan het Vrijthof , they will perform a unique version full of personal stories by players from Maastricht and the region. A colourful parade of people who tell, sing, rap, joke, dance, in short: they pull out all the stops this evening. Nobody fits exactly into a box, and that is exactly what will be celebrated.
