Yense Meij - Sowing and harvesting
20 May, 21 May and 8 more days
A contemplative installation on growth, time and architecture as an ongoing process at Bureau Europa.
Between beginning and end
Sowing and Harvesting explores the space between intention and result. The moment of sowing is clear, but what follows is unpredictable and is at the heart of the work. In this installation, it is not the final product that is central, but the process itself. Inspired by cyclical ideas about labour and growth, building is approached as something that constantly changes and continues to evolve.
Architecture as experience
Yense Meij approaches architecture not as a static object, but as something that unfolds in time. As in film and art, meaning arises through experience: seeing, feeling and experiencing rather than fully understanding.
A living cycle
Sowing and harvesting turn out not to be end points, but parts of a continuous movement. What emerges is not a fixed object, but an experience that keeps changing and reshaping itself.
