Discover the remarkable history of St Pietersberg and the ENCI in an exhibition brimming with art, heritage and personal stories.
100 years of ENCI
In 2026, it will be exactly one hundred years since ENCI began quarrying the Sint Pietersberg. To mark the occasion, this exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the area’s rich history. Artworks, heritage and stories illustrate how the quarry has taken on different meanings over the years: as an industrial site, a nature reserve, a cultural heritage site and a source of protest.
Art as a mirror of the mountain
The exhibition brings together work by artists, researchers and local stakeholders who have captured the ENCI from various perspectives, ranging from historical images to recent artistic explorations.
Stories about the past, present and future
Alongside the exhibition, there is an extensive public and educational programme. Visitors are introduced to the many stories, dreams and visions for the future surrounding St Peter’s Hill and discover how art helps to depict both the history and the future of this special area.
