On Saturday 13 June, Maastricht's Koningsplein will transform into a lively dance floor during Dansen (back) in het Park, a festive day full of music, movement and encounters. The event will revive a much-loved Maastricht tradition. Back in the 1950s and 1960s, residents gathered in the Stadspark to dance during the popular Dancing in the Park. That feeling of coming together and moving together is once again at the heart of the event. Young and old, experienced dancers and curious beginners: everyone is welcome to join in or just enjoy the atmosphere.

Dancing (back) in the Park is part of the Maastricht Year and is organised by nederlandse Dansdagen and SMILE Foundation, in collaboration with Maastricht Vitale Stad. The event brings together different generations and communities and shows how dance can connect people. From salsa to free dance moments: for one weekend, the Koningsplein will become a place where meeting, fun and movement are central. The programme ends at 10pm, but the energy and connection this day brings will undoubtedly be felt for a long time to come.
