'Tongue of disappearing' by the Climate Poets
UNTIL 7 May
During this reading, the Climate Poets will present their second collection of poems 'Tongue of Disappearing' during a lively event at Boekhandel Dominicanen.
The Climate Poets in chorus
The Climate Poets are a collective of more than 270 Dutch-language poets from the Netherlands and Flanders. They use language to create climate awareness. Surrounded by a pop-up exhibition by Maastricht artist Dorine van der Ploeg, on 7 May they form a polyphonic chorus for everything that threatens to disappear. Coarse-voiced, feather-light or shadow-loving, it will be a lively event among Dorine van der Ploeg's light-footed yet incantatory forest. Poets on duty are Emma Crebolder, Suzanne van Leendert and Anke Cuijpers.
Empathise with another world
We share the earth with millions of other species, but to what extent can we empathise with them? In Tongue of Disappearing, 50 poets explore the limits of language to give a voice to animals, plants, fungi and bacteria.
