Dive into the world of fossils with a unique film and discovery adventure! At Lumière, your afternoon starts with the animated film Mary Anning: the compelling story of a brave girl who scours the rocks for fossils and, unknowingly, lays the foundations for palaeontology. A happy, exciting and moving story about curiosity and perseverance.

After the film, head into town with palaeontologist John Jagt of the Natural History Museum Of Maastricht. Just like Mary, you go in search of hidden fossils, just in the pavement, in stone facades and steps. Maastricht turns out to be an open-air museum full of million-year-old treasures! With a little water, the fossils light up even better, and if it rains, nature itself takes care of the sleuthing.
