A journey through the history of science communication
Step into the world of science as it was seen, drawn and shared, from the 15th century to today. During this English-language lecture, Odin Essers, curator of Maastricht University's Special Collections, will take you through the history of science communication.

Understanding complex concepts
Using special books and materials, you will discover how scientists visualised their ideas to make complex concepts understandable. Think of detailed anatomical drawings, impressive maps and sophisticated botanical illustrations.

Imagination and visualisation
The lecture shows that imagination and visualisation have always been an essential part of science: not only to capture knowledge, but also to share and persuade. An engaging session for anyone with an interest in science, heritage and the art of explanation. Sign up and get a unique insight into how science was communicated in the past.
