Film as a spatial art form
Together with the Maastricht Architecture Academy, Lumière presents a lecture by film journalist Kevin Toma (de Volkskrant) on the architecture of film. Film and architecture share a fundamental fascination with space: both disciplines create worlds that determine how we look and move. Using film excerpts, Toma takes the audience on an accessible and thought-provoking exploration of film as a spatial art form, and poses the question of who is ultimately the 'architect' in it.

Special student films
Prior to the lecture, short films by students of the Architecture Academy will be screened. Using the ENCI as a starting point, they investigate the relationship between place, architecture and use through film, and offer a first insight into their design research. The spoken language of this event is English.
