'Pleurs d'amour' - a choral concert by CantaMaas
UNTIL 6 May
An intimate choral concert in which music and poetry come together around the many faces of love.
Chamber choir and poet
On Wednesday 6 May 2026, chamber choir CantaMaas and poet Puck Füsers will present a special evening in the atmospheric Cellebroeders chapel in the heart of Maastricht. TitledPleurs d'amour (Love's tears), they will explore the stratification of love, loss and grief into hope, beauty and connection.
Multiple languages
The musical programme takes you through a rich palette of styles and traditions. English, Dutch and German madrigals are alternated with choral music from Bulgaria, Romania and India, among others, complemented by a contemporary composition by American composer Jennifer Lucy Cook.
Meeting between sound and language
Between the musical works, Puck Füsers recites her own poetry. Her words form a connecting thread and add extra depth to the evening's themes. Together, music and text create an intimate experience in which emotion, stillness and comfort are central. An evening where sound and language meet and the many facets of love become tangible.
