With Next to Normal, NANOEK brings its own version of the globally acclaimed Broadway hit, awarded the Pulitzer Prize and three Tony Awards, among others. Diana lives with bipolar disorder, which blurs the line between imagination and reality in her family. Husband Dan (Edwin Jonker) saves what can be saved; son Gabe (Michael Muyderman) flies in all directions; daughter Natalie (Yara Brand) flees into pills and perfectionism.
You sympathise with a family that seems 'normal' on paper, but struggles for hold on behind the front door. NANOEKS raw approach brings the story unpolished close: you feel the highs and lows in every fibre of your body.
