During these days, thousands of volunteers roll up their sleeves to clean up litter on and around the river.

Meuse Cleanup has been growing for years. In the past six years, 43,150 volunteers took action and a combined 783,000 kilos of waste were cleaned up. Yet the problem has still not been solved. That is why, for the seventh year in a row, companies, social organisations and volunteers are once again joining forces for a cleaner Meuse.

The Meuse is an important river for people and nature. Cleaning its banks keeps the environment safe and healthy for residents, visitors and animals. At the same time, this year Meuse Cleanup draws extra attention to the importance of structural protection. Because cleaning up helps, but as long as pollution is not tackled at source, the problem will keep recurring.

Anyone who wants to take part can register via actions.maascleanup.nl. There you will find a map with all cleanup actions and information for those who want to organise an action themselves.
