In an ordinary house, behind ordinary curtains, ordinary people live ordinary lives. Often, though, that ordinary life consists of extraordinary events and stories.
In the Maastricht neighbourhood of Pottenberg, photographer Annemiek Mommers presents the everyday life of Joyce Miesen, a true Pottenberg girl at heart.
Joyce grew up in the neighbourhood and now lives there with her two children. Annemiek followed her in her daily life and captured with attention and feeling what it means to be at home in Pottenberg.
The photos are exhibited in an ordinary house, in the middle of the neighbourhood. There, among the people and the stories of everyday life, the visitor gets an intimate look at how extraordinary ordinary life can be, and how it is often not as ordinary as it seems.
