Birmingham Festival Choral Society (BFCS) concert
UNTIL 28 May
The Birmingham Festival Choral Society (BFCS) is coming to Maastricht with its 13th European concert tour in May 2026.
Strong reputation
BFCS is one of the UK's oldest choirs. The choir has a strong reputation which began by commissioning works by 19th-century composers. These include Mendelssohn, Gounod, Dvorak and Elgar. The choir maintains its reputation with a wide repertoire including classical choral works by Bach, to contemporary music. Opera choruses, choral music of jazz and folk also feature here. BFCS often tours abroad and this year they are delighted to perform concerts in Wallonia and Maastricht.
Ease Foundation
Donations for the Maastricht concert will be for Universiteit Maastricht's @Ease Foundation (for young people, 12-25, "when life just isn't running.").
The performers
BFCS choral conductor is David Wynne, who is also director of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. His wife Alexandra, a professional soprano and singing teacher, is the soloist with this tour. They are accompanied by Kevin Gill, who comes from the famous Royal College of Organists.
