About the performance
New York, 1980s. As the AIDS crisis spreads mercilessly and the city becomes increasingly harsh and uneven, people desperately seek to hold on. Love relationships crumble, beliefs falter and the line between dream and reality blurs. Angels in America takes you into a world about fear, faith, love and identity. In the midst of chaos and crisis, the performance shows that vulnerable, lonely and often excluded people in particular teach us something essential: hope and humanity survive even in the darkest of times.

Direction & Makers
The performance is the graduation project of Luuk Bellemakers, who this year graduates as a director from the Toneelacademie Maastricht. As a young Limburg maker, he is working on this production with three important cultural partners in the city: Toneelgroep Maastricht, Theater aan het Vrijthof and the Toneelacademie Maastricht.

The performance is free, but reservations are required.
