Lumière Jazz Nights: Van Ruller // Hogenhuis

Jesse van Ruller and Maarten Hogenhuis present their second album Follow the Sound, with eight joint compositions focusing on melody, sound and improvisation.
The duo drew inspiration from sounds from all over the world: flutes, the back of suitcases, obscure guitars, an impressive collection of effects and a small but characteristic guitar amplifier. In addition, influences from a variety of artists passed by, from Blake Mills to Sam Gendel and from Sufjan Stevens to Shabaka.
The Lumière Jazz Nights are made possible with the support of Elisabeth Strouven Fund, Kanunnik Salden Nieuwenhof Foundation, Municipality of Maastricht and in collaboration with our partners Lokapi, the Conservatorium Maastricht and Jazz Maastricht.
